A sweet and ever so chocolatey slice, that will leave you wanting more.

INGREDIENTS

  • Base

  • - 1 'n ½ cups (225g) wholemeal plain flour

  • - 1 'n ½ cups (125g) desiccated coconut

  • - 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda

  • - 7 tablespoons (46g) cacao powder

  • - 5 tablespoons (103g) maple syrup

  • - ½ cup (100g) coconut oil, melted

  • - ½ cup (132ml) almond milk

  • Chocolate topping

  • - heaped ⅓ cup (57g) cacao butter (sourced from Naked Foods Braddon)

  • - 2 tablespoons (23g) coconut oil

  • - ⅓ cup (35g) cacao powder

  • - 3 'n ½ tablespoons (62g) maple syrup

  • - extra desiccated coconut

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (355°F) fan forced and line a 19cm x 28 cm baking tin with grease proof paper.

  2. Combine all the base ingredients together in a large bowl. Press into the prepared baking tin and bake for 15-20 mins. Remove from the oven and leave to cool while you make the icing.

  3. To make the icing melt all the chocolate topping ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Pour over cooled base and sprinkle with the extra desiccated coconut. Place the whole slice in the fridge to set for 20 minutes. Remove and cut into 18 slices. Enjoy cold or warmed slightly.

NOTES

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
