Imagine Dragons 'Evolve' Review
"First things first I'ma say all the words inside my head..."
Imagine Dragons' Evolve is finally here!!!!
Evolve is the alternative rock group's third studio album and was released last Friday.
The album as a whole is very coherent in the sense that all the songs work together. However, none of them really stand out either (with the exception of the singles that were pre -released).
The sound is more pop-y than their previous albums, but still has that distinctive Imagine Dragons vibe.
My favourite tracks include:
1. I Don't Know Why- Is a great strong song to open the album, with an edgy chorus.
8. Mouth of the River- has a really sick overlay of percussion and layered vocals which creates a really upbeat track.
4. Walking the Wire- showcases an emotional sound with a killer chorus.
And of course the singles:
3. Believer- this song is just so coherent. The beat is really sick and Dan Reynolds smashes the vocals. It's just a really good empowering song.
9. Thunder- has a fun vibe and a weird dubbed female voice that somehow works. The percussion and vocals (as always) are really great.
The album didn't really sound like I expected it to from the singles, but I look forward to listening to it on repeat until I don't like it anymore. (hahaha)
You can listen to it on Apple Music and Spotify, and buy it at places like JB Hi-Fi and Sanity.
