How to: Slay your Summer-to-Winter beauty transition

As the temperatures continue to drop, the beauty world turns the heat up. Here are some of the newest trends and top tips to keep in mind for the next time you're on for a Winter's night out.

1. Reverse Ombré lips

The 'what': Achieve the 'Winter red wine lips' of your dreams with this easy, quick reverse ombre lip.

The 'how': Using your fingers, dab a small amount of your favourite winter lipstick on the inside of your mouth. Blend outward to the lip edges. Apply clear gloss over top, and you're good to go.

2. Cream blush

The 'what': A sheer, luminous cream that will keep your dull winter cheeks rosy all day long.

The 'how': Using fingers, dab a small amount of cream on apples of cheeks. Blend up and outward, towards the tip of your ear.

Our recommendation: Glossier Cloud Paints, $18USD / Australian dupe: NYX Rouge Cream Blush, $11.95

3. Banded bronzer

The 'what': This years new bronzing trend. With "ski-google tan" effect, look freshly windswept and sunkissed through even the most dreary, drizzly days.

The 'how': Using a loosely packed cheek brush, sweep bronzer from underneath cheek bones to apples of cheeks. Then sweep bronzer over bridge of nose for the google tan effect.

4. Body butters

The 'what': Thick emollient body moisturisers for those cold, windy day when your skin asks for a little extra.

The 'how': Slather a thin layer of butter over slightly damp, roughly-towel dried skin. Rug up and head to bed. In the morning, shower off any excess. Voilà! Perfectly smooth skin (For added results, exfoliate prior to use).

5. Glossy lids

The 'what': This truly is a AW17 runway trend to remember. A sheen pat of gloss over the lids will keep your eyes gorgeously youthful.

The 'how': Use a hydrating oil, or non-stick balm (Even Vaseline for some may work!), and a round packed crease brush - swipe a tiny amount over eyelids. Dust a thin coating of powder over top if lids are too sticky.

Until next time, beauty babes xx
