The Best New Releases of June

We are near the end of June, and this month there have been so many great new music releases. This week, I have you covered with some of my favourite songs released this month.

Look At Us Now – Lost Kings featuring Ally Brooke & A$AP Ferg

Lost Kings are a fairly new duo producer group that have been coming out with some great dance songs this past year that unfortunately never took off in Australia. This time around, the duo has teamed up with girl group Fifth Harmony member, Ally Brooke and rapper A$AP Ferg to release an awesome dance track. Ally’s vocals suit the beat very well and they are the main reason this song works well, as the track itself could do without the rap verse.

Circles on the Water – Samantha Jade

Aussie Samantha Jade has been absent from the music scene for the past year, but she is back with a great pop track. The song has thin textured verses that showcase Jade’s soft vocals, while the pre-chorus then builds up to an infectious chorus and tropical beat drop. The song hasn’t impacted Australian radio which is what many Sony Aussie pop artists find hard to do. If given the exposure, the song could do really well.

Perfect Places – Lorde

Lorde has finally released her long-anticipated album titled, ‘Melodrama’. One of the stand out songs on the album is her latest single, ‘Perfect Places’. The single has a similar vibe to ‘Team’ and I love it. The lyrics that Lorde produces for her music are amazing, with ‘Perfect Places’ focusing on the extent that many people go to to feel alive, but they come with consequences that are then faced. The beat of the song has a great vibe and Lorde’s unique vocals are showcased well as always.

Champion – Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy are getting ready to release their new album, ‘M A N I A’ in September this year and ‘Champion’ is the latest song to be released off the album. The album has the empowering feel that the title of the track makes it out to be. The song has more of a rock vibe to the song that wasn’t seen on their first single, ‘Young and Menace’. The song features many dynamic builds that creates the anthemic sound thanks to the electronic guitar riffs and percussion. If you weren’t a fan of the band’s first single, this song won’t disappoint as it goes back to their rock roots.

Wild Thoughts – DJ Khaled featuring Rihanna & Bryson Tiller

DJ Khaled’s latest album was released on Friday, with his four-month-old son being an executive producer of the album… um WAT! ‘Wild Thoughts’ is the latest single from the album that features superstar Rihanna and R&B singer Bryson Tiller. The song samples the famous guitarist Santana’s arrangement from ‘Maria Maria’, which gives the song a very latin, and chill vibe. Rihanna and Tiller’s vocals fit the vibe of the song very well and it is definitely one of my favourite songs DJ Khaled has released.

2U - David Guetta & Justin Bieber

Hit-maker producer David Guetta and Justin Bieber, who has been taking over the music scene with his collaborations the past few months, have come together to release an awesome EDM-dance track. The vocals of Bieber and the powerful beat production creates a very emotional-filled, edgy sounding dance track that has sky rocketed up the charts worldwide.

Instruction - Jax Jones featuring Demi Lovato & Stefflon Don

This is a very simple song jam packed with sass that is bound to get people moving. With Demi Lovato on the song giving the song star power, and new MC Stefflon Don, Jax Jones brings a deep drum beat filled with synth beats infused in the track. The chorus sung by Lovato describes ‘instructions’ to get people dancing. Despite its simplicity, the song is effective and infectious.

Happy Listening!
