The Annual Met Gala’s Fashion Nails and Fails

On the first Monday of May, the annual Metropolitan Gala (Met Gala) was held in New York City. This event houses the who’s-who of the fashion/celebrity industry and has seen it’s fair share of outfit fails and nails. The annual event brings together influencers from many different industries to celebrate art and culture in the history. The outfits have by no means been conventional over the years and 2017 was no exception.

This year, the theme was Rei Kawakubo & Comme des Garçons. Kawakubo is the founder of the globally recognised brand Comme des Garçons which is French for "like boys" and is a Japanese fashion label.

Officially beginning in 1971, the Met Gala has seen themes such as Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology in 2016, Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy in 2008 and The Manchu Dragon: Costumes of China, the Chi'ng Dynasty in 1980 to name a few.
