The Hidden Gems you walk past in Priceline

A trip to Priceline is the like the beauty-addict's version of Coachella. Often times it's easy to get caught up in all the sales and newest arrivals, that some of our tried 'n' true friends can be overlooked. Below is a list of items that everyone should have somewhere in their ever-growing beauty stash. Time to whip out those sister club payback cheques! Enjoy!

Toni & Guy Damage Repair Mask, $15.99

TONI & GUY Damage Repair Mask for Intense Reconstruction, $15.99

A frequent bleacher of your luscious locks? All the experts will tell you that the damage is pretty horrendous. Surprisingly, we don't all walk away from bleach looking like Kimmie.

Without proper care, you'll continue to look like a ramen noodle accident (Poor, poor Justin T). Toni & Guy's reconstruction mask is insane. Leave it on overnight under a shower cap (You'll look ridiculous, but trapping the heat of your head helps the mask to penetrate your hair follicle). Nobody will know you're not a natural platnium!

RIMMEL Stay Matte Pressed Powder, $11.95

Oily skinned gals, this one is for you.

Unfortunately, it's packaging isn't A-grade (The lid comes off often, so keep it in a makeup bag!), but this powder vanishes pores and blots oil in a matter of seconds, without caking your skin. It comes in translucent and has no flash back (i.e No SPF, so incorporate it elsewhere in your regime, ladies!). You won't be "ghost-face flashback" anytime soon.

NIVEA Essential Care Lip Balm, $4.49

Sometimes, going back to basics is your best option. We are approaching Winter. Chapped lips are not only frustrating, but VISIBLE. Nivea's basic AF lip balm from their essential care range never fails.

If your lips really need extra help, cut off a little bit of this balm, and mix it with oil (Rosehip, Argan, etc), keep on for 5-10mins and scrub with the back of a toothbrush. It works as a deep hydrating mask and will exfoliate the dead skin off your lips. Voila! You're the new bee stung lipped Angelina Jolie.

ARDELL Fashion Lashes in 120 Demi Natural, $10.99

Are false lashes intimidating to you? Never fear, Ardell Demis are here. These lashes are not only easy to apply, but they are beautifully natural - enough for everyday use. You do need to buy the glue separately (Ardell makes some) but it's all worth it, considering these lashes are practically fool proof! (A tip: Use a toothpick to spread the lash glue on evenly, you can thank me later!)

REAL TECHNIQUES Miracle Complexion Sponge (2 Pack), $28.99

If there is no sponge rolling around in your makeup bag, we really need to talk. Sponges have absolutely revolutionized the makeup world. Rightfully so, they can be used with cream, liquid and powder (Yes! Powder!) and the finish is unlike any other. Unfortunately, us students can't be forking out $30 every few weeks (Ladies, please replace your sponges every few weeks.) for a lovely BeautyBlender. The Real Technqiues version are an exact dupe to the real deal and I can't fault it. Thanks, Sam Chapman.

INDEED LABORATORIES Hydraluron, $34.99

Last but definitely not least, a little skincare. If you've ever heard about Hyaluronic Acid, there's no doubt in my mind that it is somewhere in your regime. If not, don't worry, the 'acid' isn't what it seems. It's a powerful humectant, a moisture-binding agent. (This means it can hold up to 1000x its weight in water). When used before moisturiser, it enhances its effectiveness and plumps your skin from deeper levels than your good ol' simple cream can reach. Consider it just like your skin drinking that 2L of water you always say you're going to finish. (No shade, no tea of course.)

So, next time you're shopping to your heart's content in your lovely pink pharmacist - Scope out these items and add them to your cart. I trust you won't be disappointed!

Yours in beauty
