Flight of the Concords
Flight of the Concords - this is the name of my flying playlist. I hate flying. I hate it so much that every time the plane drops an inch or I stop hearing the engine for a split second, I am convinced the end is nigh!
I am currently packing for another jet setting adventure back to my family home on the Gold Coast to say (what I am predicting to be) a very teary goodbye to my little sister before she flies off to Canada for at least 6 months.
So, what do you pack when you are spending less than 48 hours in one place? Let me break it down for you.
I am going straight from work to the airport, so I will need a work outfit that is comfortable but still fashionable. My (poorly hidden) vanity will never allow me to get on a plane bare faced and in a tracksuit, never ever ever! Cue a black long sleeve shirt paired with brown, cream and black striped trousers, black boots and my trusty black coat, the most comfortable work appropriate outfit I could put together.
Covering up completely is not how I was planning on going home, one look at me and you would know that I don’t belong on the Gold Coast anymore. The first day of spring in Sydney was so magically warm, but apparently Mother Nature put all of her heat and sunshine into one day and now she’s maxed out. We're back to the rain and cold - sorry Gold Coast, I’ll be sticking out like a sore thumb.
I’ve packed one pair of black, high waisted skinny jeans - these are Joni jeans from TopShop for $89.95 and in the two weeks since I’ve owned them, I have already worn them 4 times! They are stretchy and suck you in, in all the right places. Since TopShop jeans that don’t stretch make me feel like I should stop eating forever, it was love at first try.
I have also packed an off the shoulder white top from MLM the Label (a to die for brand - they are a slightly cheaper, alternative to high end Australian fashion - check them out!) And a black cropped/flared top that was once a Zara dress.
I threw in a black low back one-piece swimsuit and purple paisley wrap that I bought just before I moved to Sydney and LOVE, if you visit the Gold Coast without a swimsuit you are crazyyyy because you’ll always end up at the beach. ALWAYS.
Finally I packed a cute denim button down skirt, also from TopShop that will go with anything. The trick is to pack versatile separates so you can mix and match for your whole trip.
It’s a windy day in Sydney, oh my god, what a great day to fly…. Wish me luck!
