Your Monthly Trend Report by Trendella DeVille
Ever walked down the street and realised that almost all the young 20 somethings look veeerrrryyyyy similar. I’m not talking about their faces (but I have definitely noticed A LOT of Kylie Jenner’s walking around Sydney lately), rather, I am talking about their clothes.
After a year and a half of studying a Diploma of Fashion Business at FBI Fashion College, trend is a word I've heard regularly. It refers to a fast fashion fad, something that everyone is all of a sudden wearing. TopShop and Zara are incredible at producing trendy or fast fashion clothing as their turn over is so quick, and once their production team notices a trend - BAM! It’s in store.
These trends usually filter down from luxury fashion brands such as Mui Mui or GUCCI, but one of the biggest influencers of trend are also fashion bloggers. Think Harper and Harley a.k.a Sara Donaldson who, in my opinion, single handedly started the minimalistic jewelry and no bright coloured clothes combination. Yes, this is a trend that I am obsessed with - I would love to say that I wear bright colours but I soooo do not! Do yourself a favour and check her out.
Without further adieu, here are 5 current trends that are skyrocketing!
1. White Sneakers
Adidas Stan Smiths have sold out all over Australia. You can find these bad boys in TopShop as a concession brand or even Hype.
2. Metalic Pleated Skirts
Most popularly paired with white sneakers and a plain white Tee, a few different colours and price pointed versions of this skirt can be found at TopShop, CBD right now!
3. The Bandana Neck Tie
This trend is still a baby, I have noticed more and more beginning to pop up on the streets of Sydney. This trend looks amazing with a black shift dress.
4. Pom Pom on a Little Bag
This trend is my favourite as I personally own a little black Zara bag with a cute grey pom pom that I scored at a CBD pop up store. For a cute and inexpensive stylish addition, what more could you ask for?
5. Wire Earrings
This trend is EVERYWHERE and again, I'm personally putting it upon the shoulders of Sara Donaldson. These easy little things can be dressed up or down, from work wear to dinner attire any day.
If you are living in a fashion conscious place such as Sydney or Melbourne, I can promise you that you will begin to notice these trends everywhere, if you haven’t already.
Peace Out!
