If you weren’t lucky enough to score an invite to the David Jones spring/summer ‘16 Fashion Show last Wednesday, not to fear, I’ve got a fresh re-cap of the night ready for you.

The event kicked off with a “black” carpet of the most influential, groovy and all around talented fashion crowd in the Australian Industry. This included the likes of model, actress and soon to be Mumma, Gemma Ward who wore a burgundy Dion Lee gown that Nicole Warne, a.k.a fashion blogger Gary Pepper Girl, wore to the Canes film festival two months prior. I was drooling at this dress when Nicole stepped out in it in June but for Gemma’s pale complexion and tiny figure, it just wasn't working.

Also in attendance was the band that rocked out at Splendour in the Grass - The Preatures, looking so cool they could have been handing out snow cones.

David Jones ambassadors, Jessica Gomes, Montana Cox and Jesinta Campbell were also in attendance. I would like to shake the hand of Jesinta Campbell’s stylist for dressing her in one of my favorite brands, Ellery, but making her look like Ariel when she finally got legs … This may be a matter of personal opinion!

Apart from the fashion fails and nails, the night was a wonderful array of colour with brands such as Camilla, Bec & Bridge, Romance was Born and the new sports luxe label P.E. Nation, showcasing their latest collections that will be stocked at David Jones ready for the Spring/Summer season. I’ve definitely got my eyes peeled on this Viktoria & Woods number, perfect for cocktails down at the Wharf Bar in Manly after a long day of heat, sunshine and salt water.

Catch you all later.
